Fahimeh’s Story

The setup: an Iranian woman divorces her husband, emigrates to Australia with her sons, and marries an Australian.

Important points include her new husband’s conversion to Islam, Fahimeh supporting her husband to emigrate to Australia for her children’s sake, and a car crash she is involved in.

The film follows the ups and down of this relationship, it’s affect on them, their children and to some extent those around them.

This is a very touching and intimate film, it’s only the second film I’ve seen, so this is a bit presumptuous, but I think this will probably be the best film I see at BIFF this year.

To top it all off the director, producer, Fahimeh and her eldest son were in attendance for Q&A afterwards.

Oh, and it’s all based around Brisbane, just for added emphasis.
